Description

How can the science and art communities work together to educate the public about our greatest environmental challenges? Our joint lecture with the New Children\'s Museum will explore the possibilities. The panel features Miriam Goldstein, who led Scripps Oceanography\'s recent SEAPLEX Expedition to the North Pacific Gyre, and Margaret Wertheim, co-founder of The Institute For Figuring, which develops art exhibits inspired by trash. The lecture is organized in conjunction with NCM’s current exhibition, TRASH. Cost: Free. RSVP REQUIRED; seats are limited. Hurry–this event will \"sell out.\"
